Jennifer Lopez has just purchased a $18m mansion in the exclusive Water Mill area of the Hamptons, New York. The 14,000-square foot home boasts seven bedrooms, nine and a half baths and beautiful panoramic water views. Designed by architect John Laffey, the two-acre property faces Mecox Bay and shares a dock with the home where late actor Cliff Robertson lived. Taylor Wimpey said that reduced building costs helped to boost profits in the face of the slow property market. Taylor Wimpey today reported that house sales fell in the last year while prices stood still - but the builder returned to profit despite the tough conditions. Taylor Wimpey, which also encompasses the George Wimpey and Bryant Homes names, said 'build cost savings' had helped to improve performance despite the fact that its average selling price was unchanged in the the half-year to June on last year at £168,000.
