Optimism is returning to the UK real estate market

Optimism is returning to the UK real estate market with asking prices of properties that came onto the market in June 8.9% higher than those already for sale, according to the latest house prices and affordability index from FindaProperty. The average asking price for properties new on the market was £240,019 and there has also been strong growth in houses with five or more bedrooms that are selling at their fastest rate since June 2008, it also says. Edinburgh’s Fountain Quay development site to be sold by Lloyds
The former Scottish & Newcastle Brewery site in Edinburgh city centre has been brought to the market by Lloyds Banking Group. The 13-acre Fountain Quay development site, which is located next to Edinburgh’s Exchange district, secured planning permission in principle earlier this year for a mixed-use development including retail, leisure, hotel and student accommodation.
